
The schist soil is crossed by veins of limestone. The white varieties grow beside the stream, in plots receiving fewer hours of sun. In the old vineyard, the roots seek water in cracks in the rock.

Summers are dry and water needs care. In 2025 we built a reservoir to store water for the vineyard and the animals. We keep vegetation between the rows to protect the soil.
The estate supplies the grapes for Palato do Côa and Vinha da Migalha. Vinhas do Côa brings together grapes from two estates owned by the partners.
