The essence

Six friends, one estate

In 2007, Carloto Magalhães made the first wine with grapes from the property. Friends joined him and Palato do Côa began. Today we are six partners, with our vineyard and winery in Muxagata.

At the table

At our table

We like to taste our wines with food and talk about them. At the estate, lunches and dinners also play a part in choosing our blends.

Muxagata · Douro Superior

The vineyard in Muxagata

Schist soils with limestone veins, hot days and cool nights. The white varieties grow beside the stream, on plots that spend more time in the shade.

From harvest to bottle

We harvest by hand and follow each lot in the winery. Carloto Magalhães and Paulo Schreck taste the wines and decide the course of each one.

Caring for the land

Storing water, caring for the soil

Built in 2025, the reservoir stores water for the vineyard and animals. We keep vegetation between the rows; when the vines are dormant, the sheep come in.
